And you thought your hotel was pricey

This is a hotel in Dubai we learned about in my FPM class last week. Not only is it on its own man-made island, but the rooms are custom made for your stay. That's right, they completely remake your room specifically for you when you stay. If you want a island paradise theme, you get it! It would be a great stay but expensive, not to mention a nightmare for managing. The workers probably get paid a pretty penny, too. Not only that, but do you see that little disk thing at the top? It's a tennis court. Yeah. And if your name is Tiger Woods and you pay enough, they'll make it a putting green and a tee, so you can tee off into the ocean. Check out the videos at the top of the page! (some are longer than others)

Now this is a cool building...

This is the new stadium for the Arizona Cardinals in Glendale, Arizona. It's amazing! And this time it has significance in my life because I grew up in Mesa, Arizona, which is only a few freeway exits away (ok, quite a few). So, I'm a Cardinals fan. And keep this in mind: the Cardinals have hardly had a winning season for as long as I can remember, but now that they have this building, they are in the NFC championship! Is it any wonder why I want to make this my career?

New Blog!

Welcome to my new blog! This is the place to be if you want to know what is going on in my school and career life. Currently I am a student at Brigham Young University majoring in Facility and Property Management. I work at the Missionary Training Center (MTC) as a maintenance worker, which is really a big reason why I chose this major. Before I was hired on at the MTC, I was a Construction Management major. After starting a job with maintenance, I fell in love (speaking of love, if you want to see pictures of my beautiful wife, Kasey, visit our family blog at garrettandkaseystrong@blogspot.com), but I knew I did not want to be unclogging toilets for the rest of my life (a part of my job I don't love very much). So, that's when I started looking into FPM. After deciding to switch majors, I have felt like a new man. I know that working with buildings and property will be something I will love for my whole life. Luckily, I can make some money out of it...
By-the-way, the picture above is of Toronto at night. Toronto has no significance in my life, I just thought the picture looked cool.
